A. Membership & Monthly Fee
Membership fees are charged monthly and are strictly non-refundable once payment has been processed, regardless of the reason for non-attendance or cancellation.
Membership is personal and non-transferable to another individual.
Folks reserves the right to adjust membership pricing with 30 days' advance written notice to members.
Continued payment after a price notice constitutes acceptance of the revised fee.
B. Activity Slots & Expiry
Classic members receive 4 activity slots per calendar month; Premier members receive 8 activity slots per calendar month.
Slots expire at the end of each calendar month and do not carry forward, accumulate, or convert to credit under any circumstances.
Unused slots at month-end are forfeited with no refund, partial credit, or exchange. This is a deliberate feature of the membership model, not an error.
Each slot entitles the member to one (1) confirmed session booking.
Slots are deducted from the member ledger upon booking confirmation, not upon attendance.
C. Booking & Member Cancellation
All bookings must be made via the Folks booking form or WhatsApp channel at least 48 hours before the session.
Member cancellations made more than 48 hours before a session: the slot is returned to the member's balance for use within the same calendar month.
Member cancellations made within 48 hours of the session start time: the slot is forfeited. No re-credit will be issued.
No-shows (failure to attend without prior cancellation) result in automatic slot forfeiture.
D. Session Postponement & Changes by Folks
Folks reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel any activity session due to insufficient bookings (below minimum pax), vendor unavailability, force majeure, or safety concerns.
In the event of a Folks-initiated cancellation, affected members will be notified at least 3 days in advance where possible, and the deducted slot will be reinstated to the member's balance.
Folks is not liable for any inconvenience, travel costs, or losses arising from session postponements or cancellations.
E. Top-Up & Premium Activities
Certain premium or Platinum-tier activities are available to Classic and Premium members at a flat Folks Member Price, clearly stated in the activity listing.
Premium activity bookings are paid separately via HitPay at the time of booking. No activity slot is deducted for top-up activities.
Top-up activity fees are non-refundable once payment is made, except in the event of a Folks-initiated cancellation.
Top-up access does not upgrade a member's tier or grant additional monthly slots.
F. Photography & Media Consent
Folks may photograph or record sessions for community updates, social media, and marketing materials.
By joining Folks, members consent to being photographed during activities for these purposes, unless a written opt-out request is submitted to Folks prior to the session.
Members who prefer not to be photographed must notify Folks in writing (WhatsApp or email) at least 24 hours before the session. Folks will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
Member-submitted photos shared in Folks WhatsApp groups or channels may be used by Folks with reasonable attribution.
G. Liability Waiver - Physical Activities
Please read this section carefully before participating in any physical activity.
Participation in all physical activities organised by Folks (including but not limited to yoga, Tai Chi, fitness sessions, outdoor activities, and spa or wellness treatments) is entirely voluntary and at the member's own risk.
Members confirm that they are in adequate physical health to participate in the activities they choose to book, and have sought medical advice where appropriate.
Folks, its co-founders, staff, and vendor partners are not liable for any personal injury, illness, accident, loss of personal property, or medical event arising from participation in any Folks activity.
Members with pre-existing medical conditions are strongly advised to consult their physician before participating in any physical activity.
Folks reserves the right to deny participation to any member whose health condition, in the reasonable assessment of the session facilitator, poses a risk to themselves or others.
H. General Provisions
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
Folks reserves the right to amend these T&Cs at any time with 14 days' notice.
Membership may be terminated by either party with 30 days' written notice. No pro-rata refund applies.
Continued use of membership after notice of changes constitutes acceptance.
